Pay: $15/hr

Work Hours:8am to 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday, Saturday 8am til Noon

Job Description: 

The Yard Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks related to the operation and maintenance of a salvage yard, including but not limited to sorting, torching, moving materials, emptying fluids out of cars, maintaining equipment and facilities, and providing support to other team members as needed. General clean-up is a regular task.

Essential Functions:

• Sorting metal in the yard
• Torching metal to cut into smaller pieces.
• Emptying fluids out of vehicles that are scrapped
• Clean and rake grounds as time permits.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures, including all PPE task requirements.

Experience/Skills:

• Excellent verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work and stay on task with minimal supervision. 
• Previous car experience preferred.

Work environment:

• Outside All Seasons.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the job's essential functions, including completion of all productivity standards. 
• The ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance is necessary.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the radio.
• Must be able to lift and move assorted sizes of metal throughout the shift.
• Lift at least 50lbs at one time.

Required Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
