If you're a skilled accountant and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half is currently looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Santa Ana, California area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.Your responsibilities- Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation- Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP- Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries- Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives- Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease- Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner- Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations- Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
