RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversee the processing payroll tax deposits for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payments. • Ensure filing completion of appropriate tax returns for all payroll related taxes in an accurate and timely manner. • Process quarterly unemployment filings and payments. • Perform monthly reconciliation of payroll accounts with the general ledger.• Identify and resolve any discrepancies or variances between payroll records and general ledger balances.• Investigate and correct errors or irregularities in payroll transactions.• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of payroll-related journal entries.• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to payroll and benefits.• Prepare and submit the annual census report for the company's 401k retirement plan.• Collaborate with the HR team and external auditors during the annual 401k plan audit.• Ensure accurate and timely submission of required documentation and data for the audit.• Address inquiries and provide necessary information during the audit process.• Maintain accurate and organized payroll and benefits records and files.• Responsible for process and procedure documentation and training of team members.
