Robert Half is Hiring a Director of Accounting Near Monterey, CA

Our Fast Pace Organization is Seeking Finance & Accounting Leader to join our team and flourish in the following functions:

  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations regarding both strategy and operations to improve same
  • Assist in establishing yearly company financial performance objectives and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors)
  • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with company strategic plan, especially as the organization considers insurance contracting, potential acquisitions, practice mergers and collaborations with external organizations.
  • Serve as a member of the Leadership Team
  • Participate in key decisions pertaining to company strategic financial initiatives, key financial operating performance metrics, company cost-containment initiatives and new business development strategic initiatives

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports; Monthly profit and loss forecast by provider and office location. Review GL maintenance, balance sheet, and overhead cost.
  • Complete analysis of financial results; Develop recommendations (strategic and tactical).
  • Develop and execute analysis of various business initiatives (e.g., opening new operations, asset acquisition, new service launches).
  • Develop and maintain capital budget
  • Assist in development of financial planning and analysis exercises/reports

Accounting Activities

  • Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements.
  • Oversee all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Oversee all purchasing, accounts payable and payroll activity for staff
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
  • Develop and manage accounting staff
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all internal and external audits.

Cash Management

  • Oversee weekly cash flow management; approve weekly payables; execute check signing/approval process
  • Oversee AR management and provide leadership direction to maximize company collections activities.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree (MA/MBA preferred) in Business, Management, or Finance desired

· CPA preferred; not required

· Three to five years of financial experience required ( healthcare sector preferred)

· Refined people skills, with experience effectively collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment

· Demonstrated/refined experience in financial management and accounting

· Demonstrated experience elevating company fiscal profitability

· Refined experiences addressing legal, audit, compliance, budget, fundraising and regulatory compliance matters

· Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.

· Proven effectiveness leading/developing professionals in finance and accounting.

· Technologically savvy, with an ability to develop and implement new processes and systems that increase efficiencies.
