Summary:
Administratively responsible for the activities in the departments of Medical Surgical, Medical, Intermediate Care, and Critical Care Nursing. Shares with healthcare providers the primary responsibility for establishing and providing a climate in which professional nursing is practiced. Participates in planning for individual services and the service as a whole. Responsible for activities relating to quality patient care, decision making, problem solving and all leadership functions.
Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor of Science degree required
MSN/MBA/DNP preferred
Minimum of ten years of relevant healthcare experience preferred
Five years of direct staff supervisory experience required, preferably in a customer service or healthcare field
Experience utilizing an electronic health record system preferred
Outstanding leadership and managerial skills
Knowledge of clinical policies and procedures and ability to implement
Good organization, communication and human relations skills
Must possess the ability to lead and mange clinicians for successful patient outcomes and clinical performance
