Job Summary:

The leave administrator is responsible for performing administrative and professional-level functions of all company leave programs and the ADA interactive process. The position serves as the subject matter expert for all leave programs and is responsible for program compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides leave of absence and disability administrative support to Team Members.
  • Maintains leave administrative system and partners with third-party vendors (if applicable), as needed, to ensure the accuracy of team member’s leave of absence claims.
  • Coordinates return to work for Team Members on leave, short-term disability, and other company leave programs.
  • Coordinates the Team Member leaves with all eligible benefits available with consideration to Team Member enrollments, company-provided benefits, and type of leave needed.
  • Communicates with Team Members regarding their need for leave and/or modified work duties and/or schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and take leave.
  • Assures timely completion of necessary paperwork and maintenance of records.
  • Partners with payroll and department timekeepers to ensure the leave processing is accurate and the system is updated appropriately.
  • Coordinates and arranges benefit premium payments for individuals who will be on leave without pay.
  • Provides on-site assessments for reasonable accommodations as part of the ADA interactive process.
  • Develops and delivers on-site property training programs for all leave types and the ADA interactive process.
  • Creates, maintains, and educates leadership and Team Members on standard operating procedures for all aspects of leave administration.
  • Assists in developing best practices for leave administration and total absence management.
  • Performs leave audits regularly.
  • Serve as a support and backup resource to conduct benefits onboarding for new hires to ensure they understand their benefit options.
  • Ability to take initiative and resolve problems with little direction.
  • Analyzes, investigates, and reconciles leave discrepancies.
  • Assists with all other HR responsibilities as needed.
  • Fulfills responsibilities in accordance with Rivers Casino policies, and applicable laws.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources related field preferred.
  • At least two (2) years previous experience in leave administration and ADA process required
  • Two (2) years of human resources/employee relations experience preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP or SCP preferred.
  • Gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of HRIS systems preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
  • Successful candidate is someone who operates with confidence, initiative, and a sense of urgency.
  • Person should be able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions while producing high-quality work.
  • Must be able to work with high volumes of confidential information in a professional manner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke and dust.
