Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and maintain dental materials, such as composite fillings and impression materials
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform dental charting and record medical history in the electronic health record system (Epic)
- Assist with medical coding and documentation for insurance claims
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and updating medical records
- Provide support in CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations
- Specialize in pediatric dentistry to provide age-appropriate care for children
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and record keeping
- Proficient in using Epic or other electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of medical coding principles and practices
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations
- Ability to perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs
This position requires a Dental Assistant certification or license, as well as experience working in a dental office. Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred.
