JOB TITLE: Pain Management Medical Assistant

JOB TYPE: Full-Time 36-38 hours

PAY TYPE: Hourly, paid Semi-Monthly

SUPERVISOR: Practice Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a highly organized, neatly presented Pain Management Medical Assistant to be responsible for directly assisting our Pain Management provider with coordinating patient care.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:

• Preparing the treatment room
• Taking vitals such as temperature and blood pressure (for Diabetics patients Accu check)
• Rooming the patient
• Obtaining patient history and ensuring that EMC paperwork is completed properly
• Making sure all patient documents are filled up and signed
• Pulling patient folders/patient charts and other corresponding documents such as prior visit notes and test results
• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
• Faxing referrals
• Faxing prescriptions
• Scanning and uploading all patient charts and documents into the EMR
• Sending out the Superbills to the main office
• Managing & ordering inventory
• Assisting in all other front desk duties as needed
• Keeping all the areas in the clinic clean, organized, and sanitized; making sure all waste, bio-waste, and sharps are in their proper containers and ready for pick up

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or equivalent work experience of two years or more; with MA certification
• Phlebotomy Certification
• BLS/CPR certification
• Strong insurance verification knowledge
• Excellent customer service skills
• Sufficient computer knowledge required, particularly the use of EMR and various Microsoft apps especially Excel
• Patience and compassion
• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm at all times
• Ability to work with individuals of diverse background
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good organizational and prioritization skills

SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS

This position commutes to three different clinics in one week, assisting the same provider all throughout the week.

Monday/Wednesday - 11:00 am-7:30 pm at 2160 Dunn Ave. Jacksonville 32218

Tuesday - 11:00 am-7:30 pm at 6947 Merrill Rd Jacksonville 32277

Thursday - 11:00 am-7:30 pm at 8081 Ste 17 Philips Hwy, Jacksonville 32256

Every other Friday - 11:00 am-5:30pm at 6947 Merrill Rd / 11:00am-7:30 pm at 8081 Ste 17 Philips Hwy, Jacksonville 32256

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 38 per week
