Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill an opening for a Design Project Manager position at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ideal candidate would be local, with the ability to work in person at the airport at least 3 days per week. This is a full-time, salaried position that will be an extension of the airport staff, providing design management services on CLT projects as assigned by the Senior Airport Architect.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work on behalf of CLT as staff extension providing design management services on projects as assigned by the Senior Airport Architect.
• Liaise and coordinate with airport staff, contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and consultants.
• Analyze problems and develop architectural and operational solutions. Perform design reviews on behalf of clients at design milestones.
• Assist airport with formulating and implementing their capital program by understanding the challenges and unique operational characteristics of the airport environment.
• Demonstrable establishment of collaborative relationships with stakeholders involved in planning, design, and construction of airport terminals and other facilities at the airport.
• Interpret and utilize schedule information, performance metrics, and financial data.
• Manage multiple projects while coordinating all aspects of assigned projects, as well as stakeholders, as required.
• Actively manage schedules, programs, communications, and various administrative tasks, with documentation preparation as required.
• Self-research and analyze potential design requirements and governmental regulations.
• Adhere to client standards for all design projects.
• Converse and communicate with all levels of staff, including executive-level discussions and presentations to all levels of the organization.
• Other job-related duties or projects as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field, required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience required.
• Aviation project management experience preferred.
• Experience in all phases of capital projects including building planning, programming, design development, specifications, design review, and construction drawings.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; adaptable.
• Excellent people management and communication skills.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
