DRMP is hiring a Transportation/Transit Design Project Manager (PE) to oversee projects in North Carolina. The Transportation Design Project Manager (PE) oversees the full life cycle of their team’s projects from study to final design, and provides technical guidance and quality checks for all project work within their team.
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
Oversees Bus Stop and Transit site/civil design and plan production through the life cycle of assigned project(s)
Work with public sector clients by attending client meetings, presentations, addressing client inquiries, and participates in business development
Manage multiple publicly funded projects and provides technical quality control of projects
Prepare project fee proposals and follow up as appropriate.
Responsible for tracking of costs, schedules, and performance measurements for assigned projects
Support marketing with project pursuits an proposal preparation
Supervise and mentor/coach project managers, associates and interns
Responsible for personal professional development through collaboration with other service areas to develop broader awareness of the relationships between the various project design disciplines
What you'll need
Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Six (6) years of experience overall/progressively responsible experience with public and private sector projects, ideally in A/E/C space specifically site/civil or transportation/roadway design
Professional Engineering licensure in NC and the state where this person’s work is primarily performed is required
Experience managing people or a team
Preferred to manage or have managed at least $400K in revenue generation
Scope, schedule, and fee development experience
Experience working on Municipal and/or Department of Transportation (DOT) design projects
Skills:
Proficient use of engineering software and the default parameters required by state DOT and/or municipalities
Proficient use of MS Office products
Knowledge of appropriate technical design standards and practices
Knowledge of ADA accessibility and sidewalk design
Understanding of how to prepare specifications for projects
Work well independently and collaboratively
Good problem-solving and communication skills
Detail-oriented, flexible, and adaptable
Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion
