EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
REYNOLDS ADVANCED MATERIALS OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE:

RAM is seeking a driven Outside Sales Representative for our Seattle, WA branch to cover the following territories: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana. We are looking to hire the right person to talk to customers about how our products can help improve their projects, processing, and production. The primary responsibility of a RAM Outside Sales Representative is to drive product sales by solving problems for new and existing customers. You will be part of a team and will receive the full support of your branch and our parent company, Smooth-On, Inc.

Developing a strong knowledge of RAM’s products and their applications is essential for success in this role – so the ideal candidate will be eager to learn about both our materials and how our customers use them for their applications.

Outside Sales Reps should be comfortable working with their hands, appreciate the creative mind at work when using our materials, and enjoy working with a variety of professionals and personality types. New RAM Sales Reps will receive hands-on mentorship & work alongside industry veterans, some with decades of experience – all of whom describe the job as “unlike any sales position you’ve ever heard of.”

Note: This is not a commission-based role. You will receive a competitive salary and equitable bonus incentive (see more on compensation and benefits below).

OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive RAM product sales in a multi-state territory that include the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
  • Develop, manage & nurture customer relationships - regularly call on new & existing qualified customers IN-PERSON and remotely. Strong follow-up skills are essential.
  • Generate product interest, leads, sales, and customer accounts by participating in a variety of industry-related tradeshows & events (including seminars hosted at RAM)

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Outside Sales Representative’s primary objective is to increase sales by gaining new accounts and growing business at existing accounts using product and application knowledge in conjunction with problem-solving skills. Outside Sales Representatives travel in a defined geographic territory based on the location of the Reynolds Advanced Materials branch and call on prospects/customers in accordance with the Company Sales Protocol. For training purposes, occasional co-travel with existing Outside Sales Reps and the National Sales Manager will be required to develop an understanding of products and customer applications.

Manage Defined Sales Territory:

  • Travel to and maintain working relationship with existing and newly acquired customers.
  • Manage time efficiently (as defined by the Company Sales Protocol) when working in the territory to maximize effectiveness by properly routing in-person sales visits to maintain good relations with existing accounts in addition to calling on accounts with growth potential.
  • Schedule periodic follow-up calls and visits to answer technical questions, introduce new products and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrate product at customer locations as needed to develop business and increase sales.
  • Identify competitive opportunities and recommend target pricing as needed to compete for business.
  • Observe and participate in material seminars that demonstrate our products and how they are used for different applications.

Researching/Cultivating Sales Leads:

  • Sales leads are frequently provided from Inside Sales Technicians, the Branch Manager, and Smooth-On personnel.
  • Develop business at smaller accounts and seek new business opportunities using the Reynolds Customer Database.
  • Participate in trade shows and other events as needed to meet prospects and generate leads for the Reynolds branch and other RAM locations.

Administration, Management and Product Knowledge:

  • Using company CRM, Outside Sales Representative prepares and submits weekly reports to a company distribution list detailing sales visit, products discussed, challenges encountered, available opportunities for growth and any other actionable items.
  • Outside Sales Representative monitors and reviews sales activity of top accounts on a routine basis and prioritizes these customers for follow-up calls and visits.
  • Outside Sales Representative develops an overall plan for annual territory coverage based on location of top customers and continuously researches smaller existing customers and prospects to target for visits to gauge growth opportunities.
  • Prepares ‘Pre-Visit Sales Plan’ for upcoming weeks in accordance with Company Sales Protocol.
  • Works regularly with existing and new products to become proficient with their intended use, physical properties, and applications for the purpose of conveying accurate information to customers to gain new business.
  • Occasionally support inside office operations as requested by branch manager and National Sales Manager.
  • Will ensure that company vehicle is maintained in good operating condition and always customer presentable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must become proficient in working with products that Reynolds sells for the purpose of imparting technical information, solving customer problems and expanding sales opportunities.
  • Competent in verbal and written communications.
  • Must efficiently travel throughout multi-state geographic territory and manage top accounts and other designated accounts as appropriate.
  • Must know Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Apple iPad / iPhone platforms.
  • Must learn to use company database for regular analysis of sales data, trends, and opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-years’ experience in outside sales.
  • 4-year college degree or industry experience equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have clean driving record while employed with Reynolds Advanced Materials.
  • Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays in territory.

Additional Requirements / Employment is contingent on:

  • Applicant’s consent to a background check to comply with a suitability determination from corporate management.
  • Pass a Company-provided drug test and physical.
  • Signature on a Company drug-free policy contract.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Providing a copy of last diploma or transcript.
  • Satisfactorily completing 2-week product training at Smooth-On, Inc.
  • Within 3 months of employment, employee must demonstrate an aptitude, understanding and proficiency with products that the company sells relative to customer applications.
