Respect Auto Group is Hiring a Director - Human Resources & Payroll Near Yonkers, NY

Our automotive dealer group is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Director of Human Resources and Payroll to lead our human resources and payroll functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our human resources and payroll operations, including supervising staff, overseeing recruitment and retention efforts, developing employee policies, handling payroll processing, and carrying out other key responsibilities as needed. This is a high-profile leadership position, with significant responsibility for our organization's personnel and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and manage all human resource and payroll policies, procedures, and programs in line with the dealer group's business goals and objectives.
  2. Plan and oversee employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
  3. Serve as a key resource to senior management and department managers on HR and payroll-related issues, providing advice and guidance when needed.
  4. Lead efforts to attract, retain, and develop a talented workforce through effective recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development programs.
  5. Manage payroll processing efforts to ensure timely and accurate payments, including monitoring and adjusting employee deductions, taxes, and other payroll-related items.
  6. Oversee the administration of HR programs, including employee assistance services, recognition programs, and employee relations initiatives.
  7. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including workers' compensation, wage and hour laws, and equal employment opportunity laws.
  8. Forecast future HR and payroll-related needs, including identifying and addressing challenges related to staffing, employee morale, and retention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in human resources, with at least 5 years of experience in managing a team.
  • Expert knowledge of HR policies, practices, and laws.
  • Strong financial management skills, including experience managing payroll, benefits, and other HR-related expenses.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other departments and senior leaders.
  • Strong commitment to employee welfare and satisfaction.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in sensitive matters.
