Description/Job Summary
RHD Cedar Park is looking for Direct Support Professionals!!
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the safety and supervision of our participants. RHD's Cedar Park is a residential facility for homeless women diagnosed with mental illness and substance abuse. The staff of Cedar Park strives to help each woman increase her awareness of her illness, and identify meaningful goals for sobriety. Each woman is encouraged and supported in working toward a more self-sufficient life, which may include employment and independent living. The women are encouraged to participate in adult basic education, literacy, art, and cultural activities.

Responsibilities/Duties
- Coach, model and mentor program participants in appropriate social skills.
- Document all supports offered/provided to program participant.
- Medication monitoring.
- Adocate for supports and services in the best interest of program participant.
- Assist program participants in identifying interest,and verbalizing personal goals.
- Be respectful in all interactions with program participants.
- Use appropriate de-escalation techniques consistent with program expectations.
- Serve meals prepared by the cook.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Required Experience
- At least one year related experience.
Required Education
- High school diploma or GED. Associates Degree Preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications such e-mail, time recording and other programs to enter and retrieve data necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Valid Driver's License.
Program Summary
Cedar Park, a program of Resources for Human Development (RHD) is a safe haven for chronically homeless women diagnosed with mental illness and substance abuse. We are looking are for part time every weekend, overnight (11p-7a)
RHD employees and programs in the City of Philadelphia are required to follow the COVID vaccine mandate. Revised PDPH guidance allows for new hires to be partially vaccinated at the time of hire. This means they have received at least one shot in a two-dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts. The final dose must be received within 8weeks of hire (start date). This currently does not include boosters
