Direct Support Professional

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years old.
• Must have a verifiable high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
• Must be reliable, responsible, patient, and compassionate.

Responsibilities:

• Assist disabled individuals to live meaningful, independent lives in a community setting.
• No experience required, KenCCID provides PAID training.

KenCCID’s Direct Support Professionals carry out KenCCID’s passion by providing customized support to Individuals that includes activities such as going to the mall or the park, accompanying them to job interviews, engaging in leisurely activities like sports or puzzles, or accompanying them on vacations or day trips. Other support includes household assistance, hygiene assistance, meal preparation, taking them to medical appointments, home management, and assisting them in accomplishing other activities of daily living. Other Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 40lbs, shovel snow, climb stairs and perform household chores.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Must be able to push and pull an occupied wheelchair.
• Successfully complete physical examination prior to start of employment and every two years thereafter.
• Successfully complete required background checks prior to start of employment.
• Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn to enter information into an electronic health record.
