We have a direct hire opportunity for a Production Manager in Tukwila at a packaging company specializing in low-density polyethylene film and protective flexible packaging products, such as flat bottom seal bags, gusseted bags, roll stock, and more. This is a 1st shift opening! 

They use a blown film extrusion process to create the products that meet the high standards of customers in a variety of industries like baking, seafood, meat and poultry, and more.

In this role, utilize your extensive knowledge of plant equipment and the blown film extrusion process to monitor production, from raw material handling to the production of finished goods.

Salary and Shift Information:

• Salary: $80k-$100k/a year with an annual bonus
• 1st shift: 7 am-3:30 pm; Monday-Friday (be on call as needed if there is an issue at the plant)

Job Duties of the Production Manager:

• Lead and manage a 24/7 operation with a focus on production efficiency, quality enhancement, and cost reduction.
• Regularly review production schedules, manage inventory, and strategize on improvements for production efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement
• Coordinate daily activities across the facility to ensure a seamless production
• Work alongside various departments such as procurement for maintaining spare parts and raw material inventory, scheduling to align production with demand, and quality control to uphold product standards
• Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections
• Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet the food safety and quality standards of the industry
• Address technical issues and guide the production team towards efficiency and excellence
• Engage directly with staff on the production floor, offer coaching, and manage their performance
• Develop and maintain community relations and foster a positive working environment.
• Implement 5S programs audits to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe production area
• Develop SOPs, document processes, and maintain communication across all levels of the organization

Job Requirements of the Production Manager:

• Minimum of 5 years in extrusion with production supervisory experience
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a blown film extrusion production environment
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles
• Excellent communication and team management skills
• B.S. or B.A. Degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
• Must reliably commute to Tukwila, WA 98188 or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)
