Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This is a full-time position located in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and managing billing and insurance claims
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments
- Administer medications, including injections and inhalation therapies, under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional
- Perform basic life support procedures in emergency situations
- Conduct various diagnostic tests, such as taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and collecting specimens for laboratory testing
- Code medical procedures and diagnoses accurately for billing purposes
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and basic physiology
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in medical administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing electronic health records
- Ability to administer medications accurately and safely
- Knowledge of basic life support techniques
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding, and billing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
