PROGRAM MANAGER NURSE for the Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled (IDD)

Position Summary:

This professional position provides Wellness services in the homes of intellectually disabled persons while overseeing performance of the home’s staff.

The PROGRAM MANAGER NURSE provides he Wellness Coordination Services to manage health care needs of the individuals. The position requires attention to detail, accurate, thorough and timely documentation, a commitment to individual services and a team mentality. The PROGRAM MANAGER NURSE also provides oversight, training and teaching of direct care staff and individuals; Developing and monitoring habilitation plans; Human resources functions, such as disciplinary actions, scheduling, and interviews; Attending individual, team, and staff meetings; Advocacy activities; and, General administration and oversight of services provided to an individual. Position requires a commitment to individual service, a team mentality, and attention to detail.

Reports To: Executive Director

Experience and Qualifications:

• Current active Nursing license in Indiana
• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services or related field, such as psychology, social work, or special education and/or
• 2 years experience working with persons with developmental disabilities.
• Clean criminal history and OIG record
• CPR certification
• Free from communicable diseases

• Ability to provide effective supervision and leadership for direct care staff
• Knowledge of the MR/DD community, including resource identification
• Mature and responsible judgment needed to assist individuals in meeting their goals
• Ability to interact successfully with a variety of medical, social and psychological professionals
• Ability to use assistive equipment, including Hoyer lift and wheelchairs
