Renaissance Boca Raton is Hiring a Catering and Convention Services Manager Near Boca Raton, FL

Job Overview

As a Catering and Convention Services Manager you will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in your assigned market as well as orchestrating all aspects of events hosted within the hotel. Your role involves collaborating with clients to understand their needs and preferences, coordinating with various departments within the hotel to ensure seamless execution, and overseeing the entire event planning process.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Listen to customer needs, analyze this information and create tailored proposals.
  • Negotiate and close sales while meeting/exceeding sales targets. Impress customers with tailored proposals.
  • Understand booking patterns, trends, high demand times, and events in the market.
  • Participate in sales presentations, site visits, and networking events to attract new business and generate leads.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of catering services and events such as weddings, banquets, conferences, and other special occasions.
  • Liaise with event organizers to understand their requirements and ensure all logistical needs are met, including room setup, audiovisual equipment, and catering services.
  • Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that may arise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact for catering and convention services.
  • Proactively address client inquiries, concerns, and special requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Utilize customer feedback and market research to identify opportunities for service enhancement and innovation.
  • Coordinate with various departments within the hotel to ensure seamless delivery of service.
  • Perform special projects and any other responsibilities assigned by manager or supervisor.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in catering and/or convention services management within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, colleagues, and staff members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and drive revenue growth.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, event planning, and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and event management software.
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
