FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Rella’s Spielhaus, Manhattan’s First German Language Nursery & Preschool is looking for a dynamic, kind, collaborative and experienced Early Childhood Educational Director who is ready to take on the responsibility of an Assistant Director.

In this program, we speak German, but we welcome any culture and background. Proficiency in the German Language and familiarity with the German/Swiss/Austrian culture is a plus.

As the Assistant Director you will have the role of the Educational Director with the added responsibility to act as the Director's substitute when needed.

You will be working with a small, highly motivated, knowledgeable, native German-speaking team and will ensure staff compliance with company and HR policies, NYC and NYS regulations and Rella’s Spielhaus own highest standards. You will also oversee the NYC DOH licensing requirements and their timely implementation.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Scheduling, classroom observation, staff training (ie mandatory course compliance) and development, curriculum development in collaboration with the Head of School and its implementation and assessment. You will manage early bird drop-off, pick-up, play-ground-time or day trip accompaniment. You will also oversee all the children's files and ensure compliance with DOHMH requirements (ie medical records).

Schedule:

• Day Shift
• Monday to Friday
• Open houses & parent orientations: 1 WE morning and 1 weekday evening per month

Salary:

• $90 - $100K depending on previous professional experience and qualification.

Qualifications:

• NYS Teacher Certification Early Childhood
• Experience as Educational Director in a similar Program (required)
• Experience as Early Childhood Classroom Teacher (required)
• Knowledge of Marketing, PR and SEO: Website, FB, Instagram, Linked-In (preferred)

• Head of School and Owner of Rella’s Spielhaus
