Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will perform facility maintenance tasks on facilities in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Performs facility maintenance duties in the upkeep of facility HVAC systems.
· Perform regular preventative maintenance, filter changes, pump and motor lubrication and replacement, coil cleaning and other repair tasks necessary to keep the HVAC system in good working order.
· Perform facility mechanical duties in the upkeep of mechanical and plumbing systems, such as pump or motor replacement and water line repairs.
·Assist in the repair and maintenance of facility lighting systems.
·Assist in the general daily maintenance tasks of the facilities division.
·Candidate must have a clean and organized structure in performing all duties.
·Responsible for the daily reporting of maintenance activities.
·Assist in the organization, storage and distribution of inventory goods.
·Assist in the collection and packaging of recyclable lighting materials for proper disposal.
·Must be able to safely use ladders to regularly perform maintenance on roofs.
·Must be available for occasional on-call, weekend and after-hours work.
·Recognizes, avoids, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries.
·Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
·Identifies and reports problems requiring additional attention
·Starting your job duties on time, staying on the job throughout the assigned shift to complete duties properly, and attending all scheduled meetings and appointments
Skills & Abilities:
·Proficient with computer and Microsoft office skills
·Safe and efficient operation and maintenance of tools and equipment according to standard operating and safety procedures.
·Ability to abide by safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards and safety precautions.
·May be required to work immediately before, during or after an emergency or disaster.
·NOTE: This position is designated safety and/or security sensitive.
·Ability to secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
Physical Requirements:
·Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with exposure to hazardous equipment, requires constant physical efforts.
·Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb ladders, reach below and above shoulders and move items weighing up to eighty (80) pounds while performing job duties.
·Wrist, hand and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials.
Education & Experience:
· High School diploma or GED equivalent.
·Three (3) years of facility maintenance experience.
· HVAC License or Universal EPA Certification Preferred.
·Experience working with power and hand tools used in facilities maintenance required.
·Valid Class “C” drivers license
