Job Description
The Communications Specialist is responsible for producing and managing the Province’s digital and traditional communications to promote the Province’s mission, values, and needs to the public. Attention to communication within the Province and the broader Redemptorist world is also part of this position.
This is an ideal position for an entrepreneurial, highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail; and an ability to independently prioritize and simultaneously handle multiple tasks.
The successful candidate will be an energetic, mission-driven, strategic communications leader, able to work independently to accomplish organization-wide communications goals. They should be comfortable with long-term planning and goal setting regarding digital communications, executing the communications plan independently, establishing a strategic communications direction for the organization, and teaching best practices in communications to the organization.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
1. Write and edit copy for the Province’s website, www.redemptorists.net; manage the site (e.g., articles, obituaries, calendar events, parish missions, podcasts, saints’ days, etc.)
2. Manage and implement communications and promotions strategy across social-media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and other social outlets
3. Design and manage the global website program (individual sites created for the Province’s parishes and retreat centers); provide training and consultation for program users
4. Edit and produce a monthly Province newsletter for confreres and donors
5. Cover significant events within the Province (e.g., ordinations), shooting photographs and writing news articles
6. Write and distribute press releases for the Province, as needed
7. Respond to informational requests
8. Manage daily podcast channels through proprietary podcast management site (Blubrry); assist with assigning English and Spanish podcasts and uploading/scheduling daily podcasts for publication
9. Produce and deliver monthly reports to leadership team detailing monthly statistics, project status, and long-term strategies
10. Assign, edit, and work with graphic designer to produce the annual Daily Lenten Devotions book
11. Work collaboratively with the North American Conference’s communication director as well as the General Government’s Communication Office.
12. Serve as an ex officio member of the Province’s Subcommittee for communication
13. Create and produce devotional literature and other outreach materials for various ministries, including but not limited to, Vocations, Evangelization, and Advancement
14. Create email campaigns to promote interest in the Redemptorists
15. Manage Dropbox photo library
16. Work with graphic designer to ensure brand and identity consistency
17. Serve as back-up to administrative team, as needed
Minimum Abilities Required
· Ability to work independently

· Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite, Dropbox
· Proficiency in development and management of Social media platforms as well as websites
