CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is Hiring a Remote Communications Specialist (Remote)

Resp & Qualifications

PURPOSE:
Provide a range of communications support from strategic communications planning to execution, including planning events, developing marketing campaigns for those events, and leading other client communications initiatives, including outreach campaigns to drive acceptance of policies and . Draft and edit a variety of communications materials and products, including talking points, leadership communications, marketing copy, newsletter content, and website content. Work independently and contribute to the team in a collaborative, creative environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Effectively write and edit clear, concise communications materials for various audiences, including members, providers, accounts, brokers and internal associates that reflect the business objectives and engage key stakeholders. Understand various communication channels and how best to communicate through each channel (email, print, etc). Independently plan, research, and write copy that is creative, well organized, concise, stylistically appropriate to the audience and purpose, and conforming to department style rules.
    Leads and manages all phases of the communication project life cycle process, which includes monitoring progress, serving as resource to leadership regarding the project, preparing documentation for appropriate management and various committees, preparing staff updates as required for various committees and various levels of management. Acts as liaison across multiple areas to ensure effective and efficient goals, scope, progress and completion of projects.
    Develops SOPs and policies as needed for materials and projects; maintains department inventory and history of materials including dates and reasons materials were created, modified or removed from distribution. Perform quality checks of the departments SOPs and Policies to ensure templates are consistent and corporate compliance standards are met.
  • Works closely with Marketing, Sales and external customers to communicate activities related to various audiences, including members, providers, accounts and brokers. Acts as the point of contact between the client base to ensure all communications provided are thorough, accurate and timely. Initiate ideas to enhance marketing any of our products, membership or insurance services. Take the initiative to keep abreast of pertinent industry trends and competitors.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 3 years Communications experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proven project management experience in communications, including the ability to deliver under tight timelines.
  • High performing individual with strong standing and good network within the organization.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and coaching skills.
  • Deep understanding of practices in communication, including producing content for different channels (web, in person, written, video, internal social media, etc.).

    Salary Range: $55,728 - $110,682
