Equal Justice Works (EJW) is the nation’s largest facilitator of opportunities in public interest law. We achieve this through creating Fellowship programs for lawyers and community organizers, hosting the largest national public interest law career fair, advocating for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and supporting law students pursuing public interest law careers.

We bring together an extensive community of law schools, law students, lawyers, community organizers, legal services organizations, and supporters to promote a lifelong commitment to public service and equal justice. Following their Fellowships, more than 85% of our Fellows remain in public service positions, continuing to pursue equal justice for under-resourced communities across the country. 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Equal Justice Works is seeking a resourceful, imaginative, and well-organized Social Media Coordinator to support the strategy, management, and publishing of all content across our social media channels. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong writing, graphic design, social media, and data analytics skills as well as a passion for increasing access to justice for underserved communities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support social media strategy to enhance community engagement and build reputation for Equal Justice Works 
  • Draft copy and create graphics for Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn posts 
  • Coordinate content and publishing schedule on social media content calendar 
  • Communicate with staff about upcoming campaigns and initiatives 
  • Update regular analytics reports in support of the organization’s social media strategy 
  • Develop and share regular reports on social media performance with stakeholder groups
  • Implement paid social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and publishing schedules 
  • Ensure brand consistency in marketing and social media messages  
  • Explore opportunities for organization to have presence on new and emerging social media platforms; evaluate presence on existing social media platforms 
  • Lead community management and social listening on each platform
  • Actively listen to conversations on social media about issues and topics important to the organization 
  • Edit and post video and multimedia content as needed

Qualifications


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience; minimum of one year of social media experience managing and analyzing content for a brand required
  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and content creation
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X), success metrics, best practices, and trends and management platforms (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite)

SKILLS

  • Ability to interpret complex subject matter and multifaceted content and identify compelling themes, quotes, soundbites to highlight attention-grabbing social media posts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an eye for detail and creativity
  • Demonstrated capacity to use analytics (social and website) to inform insights that drive strategy
  • Excellent project management skills with an ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a range of complexity in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with teams and provide top-notch customer service
  • Takes initiative and brings a high level of diligence to tasks
  • Solutions-oriented with superior problem solving and judgment

LOCATION

Daily activities are conducted in a typical office environment. EJW currently adheres to a hybrid work model whereby employees who live within a reasonable commuting area are required to be in person in-office two times per week.

  • Regular travel is expected to be less than 10%.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The salary range for the Social Media Coordinator position is $50,000 - $59,600, based on experience. EJW offers a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support your total health and wellbeing, including unlimited PTO (Paid Time Off); additional paid holiday leave the week between Christmas and the New Year; sixteen weeks of paid parental leave for those with EJW for six months or more; excellent medical and dental insurance with Equal Justice Works paying 100% for employee premiums and 75% for dependent premiums; student loan repayment assistance; and a $1000 professional development stipend per year.
