JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Communications and Social Media position requires in-depth strategic experience leading multi-channel social media efforts and content creation. As a savvy writer and communications professional, this role will support the Communications department with daily and long-term objectives to include: copy writing, research, strategy, outreach, content creation, and other tasks to enhance the social media engagement, marketing, outreach, and reputation-building efforts for the Association.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily management of ACC’s organic and paid presence and messaging on multiple social media platforms by posting, tagging, drafting copy, creating graphics, answering questions, engaging, monitoring competitive activities, and reporting results.
  • Coordinate with and assist Communications and Marketing colleagues to help execute integrated campaign plans to promote ACC products, events, and services in furtherance of the association’s goals and initiatives.
  • Help manage relationships and communication with Marketing, Membership, and other ACC departments on all relevant ACC activities, products, services, and news to develop editorial calendars and draft content for all ACC social media channels. Use data analytics to report on success of efforts and to provide benchmarking data and new approaches for future ACC outreach efforts.
  • Prepare for and draft a variety of content, including op-eds, press releases, talking points, scripts, and more.
  • Serve as a resource directly or through presentations to ACC executives/spokespersons, chapters, networks, and affiliated groups (such as the ACC Foundation and ACC Docket) on social media best practices, including adherence to ACC branding guidelines.
  • Follow trends in the ever-evolving digital marketing and social media space and provide recommendations and strategy on how ACC can capitalize on social media to best reach members, prospects, and other key audiences.
  • Track relevant social media influencers, including active ACC members. Identify relevant and popular resources.
  • Develop regular reports on ACC social media activities (number of followers, visits, clicks, impressions, etc.) for benchmarking purposes and ideas for improvement.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or a related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

5 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, public relations, and social media content strategy. Experience drafting speeches, talking points, opinion pieces, and other related materials for the c-suite is required.

  • A team player who demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and thrives in a deadline driven environment.
  • Possess knowledge and skills to complete multiple tasks on time with an impeccable eye for detail, without needing much oversight.
  • Fulfill the Communications departments’ daily activities.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and complete various assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience using social media platforms, tools, and tactics on behalf of a global membership organization, including Canva or other graphic design software.
  • Understanding of social media trends and new strategies, including for digital ad campaigns/member recruitment.
  • Strong computer skills required; database experience, Meltwater and/or other media monitoring/communications reporting tools knowledge is required.

LANGUAGES

ACC seeks to hire multi-lingual candidates. Fluency in English and a second language is preferred.
