How you Will Contribute

The Manager, Contract Management serves as a strategic business partner to our Business Development and Finance organizations. The Manager, Contract Management will support the development and execution of contracts with new and existing customers ensuring Red Nucleus has strong, profitable contracts with business terms that align with guidelines and represent a win-win for Red Nucleus and our customers. This role requires an individual who understands and has significant experience in contracting and negotiating within the Pharmaceuticals Industry. The role will also manage the negotiation and renewals of office leases and other vendor contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the Master Service Agreement process from beginning to end, including maintenance of contracts and key contract terms in a contract data base.
  • Manages the contract renewal process.
  • Negotiates contracts in partnership with Business Development, Finance and other functional leads to achieve timely deal closure and growth expectations.
  • Mitigates risk through understanding of proposed terms and conditions and develops recommendations for contract language to meet business needs.
  • Identifies and communicates risk areas throughout the negotiation contract lifecycle and the renewal process. Escalates issues appropriately.
  • Drives compliance with Finance, organizational and departmental policies and procedures with adherence to processes and business rules.
  • Works closely with our business development and sales organization to manage commercial relationships.
  • Advises sales and business teams on agreement structures, risks, and contract revisions.
  • Establishes standard pricing policies and evaluates pricing versus market rates to inform pricing strategy.
  • Determines acceptable discounting policy to meet company financial objections with support of CFO
  • Standardizes Scope of Work templates within different divisions of the same client
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
  • Manage and own procurement relationships at customers.

Education, Experience, Training, and Knowledge

Education

  • BS/BA required. Master’s or JD degree desired.
  • Minimum 5 years of contracting and negotiating experience, with relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Consumer Health industries.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Experience with project management and external client engagement and communication
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience prioritizing demands from multiple businesses in a fast-paced environment
  • English language fluency and excellent communications skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite and CRM a plus
  • Innovative mindset – develop new concepts through interaction with our interdisciplinary teams
  • Team spirit – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Experience leading contract negotiations and drafting contracts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contract terms and terminology enabling a comprehensive review and commentary of business contracts.
  • Experience with managing CRM and contract databases
  • Ability to operate effectively in an environment with high levels of ambiguity.
  • Ability to deal with high levels of complexity, focusing on outcomes.
  • Continuous improvement mind-set and disposition is critical.
  • Experience with “work for hire” contracts, licensing contracts, MSAs/SOWs, partnership agreements, and engagement letters a plus
