RCS is Hiring a Sales Engineer Near Santa Fe, CA

Job Summary:

The Sales Engineer will prepare quotes and proposals for EPC and direct end user projects focused on Middle East oil and gas market. The Sales Engineer will also support the execution of projects for the region. 

The Sales Engineer plays a key role in driving revenue growth by combining technical expertise with sales acumen. This role involves understanding customer needs, recommending technical solutions, and actively contributing to the sales process. The focus is on aligning products or services with customer requirements and providing ongoing support.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the technical aspects and capabilities of the products or services offered.
  • Review requests for proposals/quotes and specifications, provide detailed quotes that align with customer specifications and expectations, thereby ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct technical evaluation to provide technical solutions to meet customer’s project requirements.
  • Act as technical liaison between the CME team, Project Engineering and Product Management department.
  • Perform design calculations (wake frequency/drag force) as needed during bid stage.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations, including ASME B31.3, B16.5, ASME PTC 19.3 TW and other relevant piping standards.
  • Work in tandem with Product Management, Operations, and Engineering team to ensure quoted products are viable and manufacturable.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Customer-published corrosion monitoring specifications.
  • Work closely with the sales and engineering teams to develop accurate and competitive project proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Project Engineering and Supply Chain team and work on change order proposals.
  • Collaborate with Regional Mgr and BD Mgrs and drive Cosasco’s specification with end users.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and propose suitable technical solutions.
  • Ensure meticulous record-keeping of all technical quotes as a Sales Engineer to maintain an accurate and up-to-date log.

Education and Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, with a preference for specializations in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical fields, is a required qualification for this position. Candidates with expertise in these specific engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in technical sales within the oil and gas industry is a prerequisite for this role. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in sales within the specified sector.
  • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in materials science, encompassing knowledge of materials, their properties, and characteristics, as well as expertise in NDE testing techniques such as MPI, LPI, and X-Ray, as a prerequisite for this position.
  • Ability to convey complex information effectively using Microsoft Office tools, fostering clear and concise communication within the team.
  • Demonstrated skill in utilizing Microsoft Office applications to meticulously organize data and information, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in tasks and projects.
  • Proven experience in a technical sales role, preferably in application-specific environments.
  • Presentation skills and the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Travel as needed, up to 10%.
  • Experience with Epicor, Jira, or a CRM system is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
