Rakuten Medical is hiring a Controller. This hands-on position will be responsible for our financial operations including accounts payable, cash management, accounting for inventory and monthly close, The Controller will be a key role within the Finance Department. The Controller will report to the VP of Global Finance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process for Rakuten Medical US.
• Management of the Accounts Payable function and Cash Disbursements including supervision of the AP Supervisor. Responsible for maintaining internal controls over accounts payable in compliance with company policies.
• Assist with accounting for commercial activity including revenue, inventory and cost of goods sold.
• Work closely with the external tax firm to ensure compliance with all US federal, state, and local tax filing requirements.
• Responsible for the monthly cash reporting for RMI and subsidiaries.
• Manage the administration of the Company’s expense reimbursement system, SAP Concur, and compliance with the Company’s expense reimbursement policies.
• Ensure proper management with the Company’s credit card program.
• Other duties as assigned.

Desired Education, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• 10 years overall accounting experience in roles with increasing responsibility, in the life sciences industry.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional self-management ability.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous experience using Great Plains accounting system or similar ERP preferred.
• Experience with foreign currency accounting and reporting preferred.
• Process improvement mindset.
