We are looking for a Financial Controller who is motivated and a self-starter and thrives in an exciting and constantly evolving environment. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive and an experienced multi-tasker, who is willing to step in, roll up his/her sleeves and help out wherever and whenever needed. 

Position Details

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join the team. The Controller is a highly visible role that will be the liaison to the crypto trading team. It will assist in the management of the Fund Administrator, external auditors and tax preparers.

Position Responsibilities

• Work with our fund administrator to prepare and review monthly fund accounting packages.
• Coordinate with our fund auditor on annual audits
• Coordinate with external accounting firm on our annual tax packages
• Interface with our fund investors and management company shareholders on financial reporting
• Oversee the financial planning and tracking of the management company
• Manage our operating cash, including bank and credit card accounts
• Oversee and process payroll through our US PEO and manage contractor payments
• Perform counterparty risk assessments of new trading counterparties as well as quarterly reviews of existing counterparties
• Oversee our onboarding and offboarding with trading counterparties
• Lead issuance of quarterly / annual financial statements
• Perform ad hoc related tasks and projects as assigned

• CPA
• Strong fund accounting experience
• Experience producing or consuming financial statements
• Experience with fund or limited partnership accounting is required
• Able to work on-site full-time in our San Diego office
• Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail and professionalism
• Desire for taking proactive ownership and initiative of projects and tasks.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple and ever-changing priorities
• Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience in the cryptocurrency industry is beneficial but not required
