The Office Coordinator (OC) reports directly to the Recycling Operations General Manager or Recycling Operations Facility Manager (I or II). The OC performs administrative functions and is responsible for maintaining efficiency, complying with policies and other tasks as assigned. The OC must have strong leadership, communication, and organization skills.
This position operates within broad parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the office.
Essential Functions
Internal Control Responsibilities
Supports the Company’s Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating, and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures, and controls to better relate to the business.
Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.
Job Conditions
Average office environment subject to occasional dirt and noise due to industrial setting. Some overtime, including occasional weekend work, is required. Time deadlines create pressures to prioritize work. Frequent schedule changes require flexibility and composure.
Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions
Ability to: sit at the parts counter continually; stand and walk frequently on uneven ground and throughout the warehouse; lift and carry up to 100 pounds consistently; crouch or bend at the knees consistently to move materials; stoop or bend at the waist consistently to move materials; reach at arms length and overhead frequently; twist and turn at the neck and trunk continually; climb occasionally when obtaining items; handle and grasp parts continually; communicate by speech and hearing continually. Visual acuity needed for close detail work. Mental dexterity needed as Warehouse Associate will work independently while demonstrating attention to detail and continuous awareness.
Qualifications
Two-year degree in related field with 3 years general office responsibilities preferred. In lieu of degree, high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years general office experience. Experience in logistics or accounting/bookkeeping preferred.
Proficiency required in all MS Office Applications; Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point. 10-key competency is a must. Data entry accuracy and advanced accounting and analytical skills; understanding of purchasing systems; superior math skills; advanced knowledge of scrap industry; strong communication skills; discretion in dealing with sensitive information; detail orientation; ability to prioritize and delegate numerous tasks; ability to examine work performed for errors, duplication and/or omissions preferred. This job requires the ability to multitask, anticipate problems and make decisions based on sound judgment and an orderly process of determining facts and developing options. Willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
