Description

Reporting to the Team Supervisor, the CNC Machinist is responsible for completing the required machining operations for special orders, secondary operations on production components, and primary operations on CNC machined components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Runs production by loading mechanism by lifting stock into position and cycling the machine. Does so through safe operations and adhering to safety procedures and regulations
2. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to applicable quality, customer, and company standards.
3. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer and work instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and making suggestions for repairs.
4. Assure product and production environment meets company and customer expectations of quality, productivity, organization and workmanship.
5. Accurately report production data, including recommendations for engineering changes as appropriate. 
6. Assist team leaders, programmer, and peers as directed, to include fixture building and die component creation or maintenance.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

1. Minimum of a high school education and two or more years of machining experience including the completion of equivalent training and/or on-the-job experience.
2. Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use shop math (i.e. algebra, trig and geometry).
3. Familiar with milling and turning tools, offset adjustment and tool replacement.
4. G code and M code proficient

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
2. Ability to use precise measuring devices incidental to operations such as ruler, calipers, micrometers, and square and fixed gauges.
3. Ability to work independently and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
