Quilt & Co is Hiring a Product Manager Near Redwood, CA

Role

Quilt is looking for a customer-obsessed Product Manager to join our team as the company’s second product hire. This is a critical role for the company. You’ll work closely with Quilt’s product, engineering and design leadership to craft and deliver an exceptional software product.

Quilt is building a better all-electric heating and cooling system for the home. This role covers all of the user interfaces through which our users access, manage, and experience intuitive, intelligent, and efficient home comfort. As PM for Core Controls at Quilt, you will drive the development of the primary user interfaces for the world’s most advanced home heating and cooling system.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of product management experience, preferably creating successful, pixel-perfect consumer products. Experience with algorithms and smart home devices, particularly thermostats, is a big plus; curiosity for them is a must.
  • Obsession with customer experience: demonstrated experience and passion for understanding customer segments, mindsets and needs, and supporting the engineering and design teams in delivering compelling solutions.
  • Excellent communication. You are able to listen carefully and tailor communications across a range of audiences, from homeowners and their guests to engineers and designers.
  • Demonstrated ability to use quantitative analysis and metrics alongside qualitative and first-principles focused reasoning to build delightful, useful products.
  • Naturally inclined toward getting your hands dirty, getting things done yourself, and wearing many hats.
  • Genuine mission alignment around climate and decarbonization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the roadmap and development of Quilt’s core controls, where our commitment to customers manifests at the intersection of our hardware and software
  • Think deeply and broadly about how people experience and interact with home comfort
  • Hold strong opinions, loosely. Demonstrate finesse influencing others and being influenced in turn.
  • Spend time regularly with customers who rely on Quilt to keep them comfortable in their homes to understand their needs and develop a strong intuition for how to prioritize and solve problems.
  • Work closely with Quilt’s product, design and engineering team to design user experiences that bring our beautiful, intelligent heat pump to life. Define metrics and success criteria across the experience.
  • Travel to Asia (3 to 4 times per year) to work directly with our manufacturing partners will be encouraged. Mandarin and/or Vietnamese language skills are a plus.

This is a full-time, hybrid position in our Redwood City office.

The expected salary range is $175,000 - $200,000 a year. In addition to base salary, Quilt also offers meaningful equity and top-tier benefits.

To filter out auto-replies and bots, please include the bee emoji 🐝in your cover letter so we know you’re for real.

This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled and ambitious team of people who truly care about the impact of their work. We are on a mission to accelerate a species-level human transition. For over a million years we've been burning things to stay warm. It's time to move to a better way of living.
