WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN OUTSTANDING SAFETY AND SECURITY MANAGER IN OUR LA PALMA, CA FACILITY!
Position Summary: The Safety & Security Manager will develop, coordinate, and implement safety and security measures, policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective and safe operations in the facility. The Safety & Security Manager engages with the Operations team on a daily basis to monitor commitment to safe, productive work, and continually makes improvements for a safer work environment for Quiet Logistics’ employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following: 
  • Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Conduct security/safety risk assessments to recognize hazards in the warehouse, scenario planning, plan development; crisis/contingency planning; and other safety/security-related functions.
  • Monitors the impact of safety trainings on injury and illness rates in the workplace.
  • Builds a data-driven approach for all safety actions and programs, both in identifying and tackling problems and opportunities, and in tracking success against objectives and key results.
  • Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
  • Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Conducts routine safety meetings and communicates important updates to the Management team.
  • Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
  • Conducts accident investigations and implements corrective action.
  • Analyzes trends through root cause analysis to identify causation and risk factors to identify corrective or preventative action measures.
  • Monitors security conditions, liaise, and coordinate with external agencies – private security contractors, local government, etc.
  • Identifies and collaborates with maintenance vendor relations (dock doors, plumbing, etc.)
  • Identifies and collaborates with fire prevention vendors (fire pumps, sprinklers, extinguishers, etc.)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or ability to demonstrate a work-based equivalent
  • At least 4 years of safety experience in an industrial environment
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, CDC, etc.
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • ASP certification preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex safety / security concerns, policies, protocols and appropriate responses to critical incidents
  • 1st Aid/CPR/AED Trained

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be detail oriented, have a sense of urgency, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of warehouse policies, procedures, safety regulations, and employment-related laws
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, or related software
Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly supervises four to six employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse.
  • Ability to work between an office setting and warehouse environment
  • Ability to work in warehouse climate with temperature range of 55-80 degrees
  • Willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach and climb and descend stairs safely
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Salary Range: $75,000 to $88,000 DOE
