This person will serve as a subject matter expert on talent acquisition best practices and early talent programming (internships) to influence leaders across the organization to make effective hiring decisions. Responsibilities

  • Source qualified candidates from external sources to build a pipeline of qualified, diverse talent positioned to fill current, ongoing, and future open roles across a variety of professional specialties and functions
    • Develop effective recruiting partnerships with educational institutions, community groups and agencies focused on talent and career development and creating pathways for individuals into internships and roles within the organization
    • Attend networking events and employment fairs during and outside of business hours, as needed
    • Serve as the point of contact and mentor for summers interns - sharing program progress and success stories to generate ongoing program engagement & support
  • Follow the organizational talent acquisition process, which includes but is not limited to:
    • Write and place effective job postings to attract talent
    • Control and assure proper and timely messaging to candidates and hiring managers through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
    • Conduct initial candidate screenings and schedule on-site interviews, coordinating with executive assistants and stakeholders across departments, as needed
    • Extend offers and advise hiring managers on all details and decisions related to employment offers
    • Conduct pre-employment reference checks, background checks and drug screens
    • Coordinate with third party staffing partners as needed
  • Influence and consult hiring managers to make effective hiring decisions
    • Provide training on legal and regulatory issues related to hiring
    • Encourage evidence-based, data-driven hiring decisions through concise, straightforward communication and effective presentation of candidate information
    • Research and offer labor market data to support recommendations, talent acquisition strategies and decisions, as needed
  • Remain informed on talent acquisition best practices through attendance at seminars, training and conferences and offer trends and recommendations for the improvement and streamlining of recruitment processes and practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in full cycle recruiting in a corporate environment or staffing industry
  • Valid driver’s license and ability/willingness to travel off-site for meetings and other functions
  • Prior experience leading early talent programming (internships), campus recruitment, or working in third party staffing is preferred
  • Proficiency in navigating through multiple web portals, job boards, email, calendar management, and spreadsheets is required; Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or integrated Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills – must be comfortable initiating first point of contact with applicants, quickly building rapport and engaging with candidates throughout the interview process and effective in influencing timely, evidence-based hiring decisions through a detailed, concise approach with organizational hiring leaders
  • Ability to influence hiring decisions and negotiate effectively with hiring managers as well as prospective and active candidates
  • Strong coordination skills – ability to work effectively and positively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and stay organized

This position may work from our office in Madison, WI or remotely, with regular travel to our office in Madison, WI and throughout the state of Wisconsin. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
