Position Description:
The Fisheries Programs Manager will lead the development of outreach and research projects related to fish, their habitat and subsistence use. This person will define a program of work to address priorities as identified by the Tribal Council and long-term strategic plans, including outreach and engagement with Tribe members and the larger Unalaska community. This role includes collaborating with a diverse network of partners and funders and developing new partnerships to help achieve program goals. The Programs Manager will define project plans and develop funding strategies, identify, and apply for funding to support priority program areas. They will conduct day-to-day activities to achieve deliverables of all grants and agreements relevant to subsistence fish resources and their habitats, invasive species, aquaculture, marine monitoring, and other related program areas. This person will work closely with other Tribe programs including environment, culture, and wellness. This position is supervised by the Environmental Program Director.
The Fisheries Programs Manager will be responsible for grant management and reporting, preparation of all documents and deliverables defined in workplans, management of both field-based and office-based project work. Supervision of seasonal field staff and/or interns will be required. Open and respectful communication with fellow staff members, contractors, and other partners from a variety of organizations is a must. Seasonal fieldwork and other travel are required for this position.

Compensation: This position is term regular full-time, non-exempt, non-supervisory with a salary starting at $81,956. Benefits as outlined in the Policies and Procedures.
