Proper Hospitality Solutions is Hiring a PAINTER Near New York, NY
The essential duties of the Painter are to maintain, repair and achieve optimal aesthetics all wall & ceiling surfaces in the hotel. This role reports directly to the Director/Assistant Director of Engineer. The Painter will be an experienced professional with strong working knowledge of surface preparation, mixing/blending plaster, structo-Lite, etc, effectively and efficiently use appropriate brushes, rollers, etc. to apply paint, stains, varnishes & other coatings to walls, ceilings, etc.
Job Description
- Provide for an exceptional guest experience
- Work in a safe, clean and efficient manner
- Make necessary on-site preparations (securing area, covering FF&E, etc.), floor surfaces, as necessary
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sandpaper, removing old paint.
- Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (ie compound, plaster)
- Skim coating of wall surfaces
- Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
- Very adept and experienced with using associated tools and equipment, ie; rollers, brushes, scrapers, sanders, etc.
- Adhere to all health and safety precautions
- Perform duties as reasonably assigned
Requirements
Prior experience working in a fast paced, high-end environment providing extraordinary guest experience
- Preferably at least four (4) years of experience preferred.
- Excellent service orientated attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills to partner with colleagues under pressure.
- Perform work assignments with minimal supervision.
- A high school diploma is required.
- Fluency in English language; additional language skills and knowledge preferred
- Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving fast without discomfort
- Must be able to use of ladders, scaffolding, scissor lift, etc.
- Must be able to work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Certification with Scissor lift, scaffolding preferred.
