About Us:

At Proper Food, we make it a cinch to eat well on the run. We craft our fare by hand fresh every morning the only we know how – with whole, local ingredients sliced, chopped and seasoned with care. Nothing phony or factory-made. Just good, proper fare that’s packed and ready to go.

Proper Food launched in San Francisco in 2014 and has rapidly grown to twelve locations in San Francisco, four in New York and a recently opened airport location at SF International Airport. We are continuing to expand with additional locations coming soon.

Our mission is to change the way people eat on the go. We cook all our meals from scratch each morning and deliver them to our stores pre-packed and ready to go. At the end of each day, all unsold meals are donated to local food banks.

The Role:

Looking for an opportunity to show off your creative chops? We're looking for a Social Media Intern to help us grow and cultivate our online community and audience with engaging content, all while maintaining consistency with the company’s overall brand and voice. You're a social media wiz in your group and always know what's trending, with some education and/or experience in Marketing/PR. This would be a hybrid role, with you capturing content at our NYC stores onsite but also having time in front of your desk to bring it all together!

This job is part-time with 15 hours/week. Would be an ongoing role with potential opportunity to grow with the company and marketing team.

Your Responsibilities:

• Test new social media features and engagement tactics with fresh ideas and new programs
• Publish compelling social content to drive engagement, brand awareness, traffic and conversion (video & static)
• Assist in writing captions and creating engaging content for a variety of social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and more
• Work with marketing team to regularly track social analytics and share findings with the wider team to find opportunities for optimizing social media engagement and growth
• Create positive engagement with our online social presence and foster community growth and communication
• Monitor social media inbox and comments
• Provide design support and creative asset creation for social channels
• Understand how social aligns with the company’s overall visual brand guidelines
• Influencer Management (Scouting, Outreach, Collaboration)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience with creating graphic and video content for various platforms
• Basic knowledge of Graphic Design and Video Editing
• Knowledge of tools like Canva, Photoshop, etc
• Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and best practices, KPIs, and emerging trends
• Some education and/or experience in Marketing/PR
