Proof of the Pudding is Hiring a Director of Catering - Off-Premise Catering Near Atlanta, GA

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company with a commitment to creating quality culinary innovations. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, Raceways & more.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Catering to lead our Off-Site Sales Team and oversee the seamless coordination of all events. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for innovative hospitality, and a proven track record of driving sales and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Off-Site Sales Team, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives to drive business growth and expand market presence.
  • Obtain new clients and foster relationships into events and repeat business.
  • Maintain existing client relationships through Caterease database - follow-up calls, emails, notes, and consistent sales calls/drops to assigned venues, client meetings, tastings, etc.
  • Create personalized & creative proposals based on clients’ needs with timely responses.
  • Responsible for detailed communication to all involved internal parties; operations, event managers, Executive Chef, GM and the culinary team; must communicate effectively on any pop-ups and last-minute event updates.
  • Attend all booked events to greet the client and ensure the event details are executed accordingly until the food is presented; introduction made to the event manager to meet the client. Ensure customer satisfaction prior to departure.
  • Ensure the billing procedures are followed and the event is closed out properly in Caterease for EOM recordings as well as the teams.
  • Follow-up and Manage AR processes and procedures for all events – ensuring timely payment prior to event day.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Prepare and analyze Caterease sales reports, budgets, and forecasts to track performance and inform decision-making. Track closing ratios from tastings and lead volume on Daily Call Logs.
  • Monitor “hot dates” with yield management SOP with GM.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

Performs other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5 Years of Proven experience in a senior catering or hospitality management role, with a demonstrated track record of driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and catering software (e.g., Caterease) is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business.
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to the Atlanta, GA area.
    • The ability to travel across the Greater Atlanta Area and to other POP venues as needed.

Work Environment

This position breakdown will be around 70% in office work, 30% event attendance. Office work entails computer usage, interdepartmental meetings and communications via email, phone, and in person, and assisting with event preparation and planning. Event attendance includes client relations and being a managerial presence. Events can be in an indoor or outdoor setting with movement between temporary structures, buildings, and semi loading trucks.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 25 lbs.

Position Salary & Benefits:

  • This is considered a full-time salary position with a starting base pay of $75,000 per year
  • This position is also entitled to a competitive tiered commission structure.
  • Proof is pleased to provide all full-time eligible employees with Basic Life and AD&D as well as long term disability at no cost to employees.

  • Additional benefits include daily lunches in the office and a cell phone stipend.
