Promontory Development is Hiring a MANAGER | CATERING & EVENTS Near Park, UT

Promontory Club is looking to hire a Full Time Food & Beverage Banquet Manager (Hourly).

Our Banquet Manager will meet the Member's food and beverage needs in a friendly and professional manner that is consistent with the highest standards of Promontory Club events.

Overview:

Supervise all phases of banquet functions, including scheduling, product ordering, and any additional tasks the Event Manager assigns. The Banquet Manager is to oversee banquet events and ensure that all event details, service standards and departmental policies are followed by banquet staff. Act as a single point of contact with the banquet host during the function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Scheduling of banquet staff; prepare duty charts to correspond with banquet functions and manage labor to meet monthly budget
  • Assist and support the Events & Banquet Manager to provide excellent guest service
  • Organize transportation of food and equipment to each venue
  • Responsible for monthly beverage inventory, consumption spreadsheets, and banquet staff labor
  • Responsible for ensuring sufficient operating supplies, beverage supplies and operating equipment for functions assigned
  • Ensure all ordering has been placed by Banquets, Beverage Purchasing and Chefs
  • Responsible for ensuring each function space is always set visually appealing
  • Responsible for the overall sanitation and cleanliness of the work areas, banquet rooms and storage areas
  • Conduct a weekly through of all areas to check condition of all tables, furniture, etc. Notify correct department head of any repairs or services needed
  • Responsible for the proper usage and good working order of all equipment, furniture and fixtures in the Banquet and Catering areas. Notify correct department head of any repairs or services needed
  • Responsible for consistently implementing the service standards and operating procedures in the Banquet and Catering service
  • Train and oversee service staff to meet Promontory Club’s service standards
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure member needs are met
  • Should possess in depth Knowledge of Food and Beverage preparation and presentation
  • Be familiar with all current and upcoming event details
  • Resolve staff and customer concerns quickly and efficiently
  • Coordinate with the Chefs, Restaurant Managers, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Security as needed
  • Must be able to handle long shifts and heavy lifting/moving
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications. Maintain files of Safety Data Sheets and follow safe work practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, (2) two years of previous experience working as a supervisor in a banquet or catering environment preferred; must have or be able to acquire a State of Utah food handler's certification within two weeks of employment; must have a recognized alcohol server training card by the Utah Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control (UDABC); must be at least 21 years of age for serving alcoholic beverages (UDABC).

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A broad background in banquet dining and events is preferred; basic computer skills and competency in the following Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and POS software; must have strong communication and organization skills; must have a high attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment all while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON JOB: Abide by Promontory policies and procedures and submit ideas for possible revision; work independently with little supervision; courteous and helpful with Promontory Club Members and employees; a thorough knowledge of all games, electronic media and Point of Sales systems will be required within the first 30 days of employment; practice proper and timely communication.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be willing to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends when needed; must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time; ability to lift 25lbs regularly and the ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally; must be willing to work at any F&B outlet when required.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Compensation commensurate with experience.
