The Promontory Club is looking to fulfill a vacancy for a Club Outside Golf Operations Personnel – Full time Summer Seasonal.

Will assist in all areas of the outside Golf Operations

• Practice Facility
• Starter
• Marshall

The summer season will range from the beginning of May through the end of October. This position will have the ability for top performers to continue their employment with Promontory after the summer season and become full time, permanent employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift.
• Make sure all equipment - radios, carts, etc. are working correctly.
• Keep cart barn area neat and clean at all times.
• Bring out clean, stocked, and iced carts to the cart staging area.
• Clean the carts that come off the course/range, this includes trash, water bottles, towels, dirt, cubbies and tires.
• Carts must be restocked and ready for play - 2 water bottles, 2 sand bottles, 6 black logo tees, 2 clean folded green towels, yardage card, scorecard, sharp pencil.
• Correctly park and charge carts once they are cleaned and restocked.
• Greet golfers as they arrive to drop off their bag, pick up their bag, make the turn, or finish their round/practice.
• Assist golfers in directions to practice facility, golf shop, and locker room, #10 hole etc.
• Setup carts with correct sets of clubs/rentals.
• Write down and communicate starter cart #s and corresponding groups.
• Assist in keeping the course and areas around the clubhouse clean, and call attention to golf shop of any maintenance issues needing to be addressed.
• Keep the range tee neat and organized. Balls/tees/den caddy restocked and in line.
• Setup practice facility in morning.
• Restock practice facility during day.
• Pick range balls using picker or shag bags.
• Clean and sort range balls in ball washer.
• Breakdown practice facility at night.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Pro.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is preferred; participation in PGA or PGM curriculum is preferred; PGA of America apprenticeship or PGA membership in good standing is preferred; successful completion of a Player Ability Test (PAT) is preferred; must be at least 16 years of age.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Excellent oral communication skills; self-motivated with desire to promote; service and customer focused attitude; enthusiastic, outgoing attitude and personality, patient and non-combative; organized and able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing; team player and professional.

WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON JOB: Abide by Promontory policies and procedures and submit ideas for possible revision; work independently with little supervision; courteous and helpful with Promontory Club Members and employees; practice proper and timely communication among the entire golf department personnel and keep members satisfied and well informed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time; ability to spend time in an outdoor environment in the sun, rain and other conditions; ability to lift 30lbs regularly and the ability to lift up to 60lbs occasionally; must be willing to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends when needed

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Wages start at $20/hr and will be determined upon employment and will be commensurate with experience.
