Promenade at University Place, an assisted living community in Albany, NY, is looking to hire a Food Service Director to oversee kitchen and dining operations. Primary responsibilities include the scheduling, training, and management of the culinary and dining room staff and the proper purchasing of food and kitchen supplies. He or she also prepares and cooks meals for residents and maintains standards of kitchen cleanliness.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an institutional setting or 2 years’ experience plus 1-year schooling at a culinary institute
- State Food Certification required, if applicable
- Current ServSafe ® Certification
- Extensive food service background, including volume cooking and catering
- Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational and, managerial ability and the ability to analyze budget information
- Excellent cooking skills
