An established assisted living company is looking to hire a staff accountant. The position is integral to the corporate staff and the experience will result in an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of a growing assisted living company.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities –

• Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports / packages
• Participates in the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly and annual closing process
• Develop processes and policies for tracking reporting entity operational and financial data
• Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Analyzes revenues, costs, trends, financial commitments, and company obligations
• Responsible for account reconciliations/ financial schedules as assigned, including research of discrepancies
• Develops and maintains financial databases / records
• Develops and maintains vendor management procedures
• Implement cash management procedures
• Responsible for financial audit preparation and coordination of the audit process
• Establishes and monitors the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
• Responsible for integrity of general ledger data
• Management of project related costs for assisted living facilities
• Participation in the annual budget process as assigned
• Other accounting duties and general responsibilities as assigned
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed
• Conduct operational reviews and report on KPI activity in CRM system;
• Accounting record/ file management;
• Vendor management and accounts payable processing;
• Assist non-accounting departments with issues as they arise
• Special projects and other assignments as required
• Collaboration with operational personnel on financial and operational matters
• Coordination and preparation of ad-hoc projects within the finance area;
• Research and implementation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience
• Degree in Accounting from accredited institution
• Experience in Quickbooks, a strong plus
• Strong Microsoft Office skill – specifically Excel
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and rapidly changing needs
• Team oriented
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Promote and nurture the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and compliance, and actively support our compliance program-related initiatives and activities
• This role requires travel to the company’s various operating facilities located in upstate NY. The individual must be able to take on various projects and must be willing to learn new skills.
