Professional Solutions Delivered, LLC is Hiring a General Maintenance Worker Near Norfolk, VA

Professional Solutions Delivered, LLC (ProSoDel) is a total solutions provider for government and commercial customers in the areas of Program Management, Logistics, Organizational Change Management, Communications, Training, and Information Technology (IT) Support Services. We are currently seeking a General Maintenance Technicianto join our team of professionals in support of Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Oversees and manages the placement, gathering, and coordination of recycling bins across office spaces in alignment with the scheduled pick-ups by the recycling truck.
  • Conducts routine cleaning and addresses incidental flooding and spillages resulting from plumbing leaks, overflows, or weather-related intrusions.
  • Utilizes shop vacuums, mops, and additional cleaning instruments supplied by the government.
  • Removes blockages from condensate lines.
  • Documents areas of damage or those requiring maintenance and communicates this information to the relevant authorities.
  • Escorts NAVFAC and other maintenance personnel working on service tickets and repair orders.
  • Tests emergency backup lighting to ensure they remain in working order.
  • Replaces light bulbs, as required.
  • Mounts artwork, signs, televisions, brackets, and similar items onto walls.
  • Removes snow, ice, and debris from entrances and pathways surrounding the facility to ensure safety during adverse weather conditions.
  • Order new supplies and equipment when necessary.
  • Conducts basic landscaping tasks including weeding and pruning to maintain the appearance and health of the facility's grounds.
  • Assists with severe weather preparations by performing such tasks as covering office equipment with protective plastic sheeting, disconnecting electronic devices from power sources to prevent surge damage, relocating vehicles to designated safe areas to shield them from the weather, and bringing other potentially vulnerable outdoor items that could be damaged, inside the building to protect them from storm damage.
  • Adjust priorities based on the urgency of maintenance issues or unforeseen problems.
  • Handles the relocation, assembly, and disassembly of furniture for various purposes and settings within the facility.
  • Assists employees in transition by helping with:
    • Packing and unpacking office supplies, documents, and other typical office items.
    • Moving desks, chairs, and other office furniture to new locations or assignments.
    • Ensuring that files and office items are securely transported with minimal disruption to work routines.
  • Provides logistical support for training rooms, Employee Development, and Command Events by:
    • Arranging and reconfiguring tables and chairs in training rooms tailored to the specifications of each event or function.
    • Operating room dividers, including opening and closing them as needed to accommodate different group sizes and event types.
  • Responsible for the secure disposal of documents and files by shredding them to protect sensitive information.
  • Assists with organizing and packing documents and files into boxes, labeling them accurately, and preparing them for storage or archiving.
  • Provides logistical support to the IT Branch by carefully packing and moving computer equipment, including desktops, monitors, keyboards, and peripherals, to new locations when required.
  • Perform tasks such as painting, carpentry, and general upkeep activities (e.g., fixing leaks, patching walls).
  • Communicate with facility occupants and users to ensure satisfaction with the maintenance work and to address any concerns.
  • Keep records of scheduled maintenance procedures for all equipment used.
  • Performs related work, as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations)

Mandatory

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 3 years
    • General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and other maintenance-related areas.
    • Ability to operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely.
    • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues and facility occupants.
  • Clearance:
    • Must be able to pass a background investigation (minimum T-1/NACI)
