Position Summary: The account manager is responsible for building professional relationships with potential and current industry buyers. The account manager is also expected to earn RFQs from buyers and quote products competitively, while maximizing potential gains. This role is also responsible for technical and finance-related discussions with the customer, as well as internally.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist and update sales budgeting and forecasting process
Add in new business, consider balance out business, EAU changes and include any Price down commitments for customer
Update the forecast as needed for part number and revision changes
Ensure & promote steam-line effectiveness of quoting procedure. Make sure customer forms are filled out as required. IQMS
Assign appropriate margin to offset any productivity giveback expectations, also cross referencing to current supplied products of the same “type” to assure pricing is not undercut.
Add margin to tooling to make sure PPAP costs, EOAT costs, anticipated tune in costs, & Melt Flipper costs are covered in tooling monies being quoted
Responsible to monitor & track account activity for assigned customers’ accounts receivables & work w/customer payables to obtain resolution on any past due aging accounts.
Provide complete commercial Account Management as assigned
Establish growth plan for each account.
Determine High Potential programs for attacking resulting in new business awards
Build relationships with key decision makers including purchasing, engineering, quality, program management, etc.
Entertain customers as required including lunches, dinners and events.
Develop plan for cross divisional penetration strategy
Participate in APQP #1 & #5 mtgs.
Handle all project awards & verifications
Manage all price increase / decrease requests w/accounts as applicable
Participate in Quarterly Sales Meetings and Strategic Planning
Assist in defining target accounts
Provide competitor, product, technology and market insight
Target and secure new business with defined accounts through prospecting, networking or prior relationships.
Training and Work experience requirements or preferred:
A minimum of five years of applicable Injection Molding work experience.
Experience with computer and/or computer related systems.
Relationship development skills.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Computer Training (Preferred)
Must have basic math skills including the ability to read and write.
Blueprint Reading
College Degree (Preferred)
Knowledge of Automotive and Injection Molding Process/markets (Preferred)
