THIS POSITION IS BEING STAFFED FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR. ANTICIPATED START DATE IS JULY 1, 2024.
An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.
7.5 hours/day
This position will remain open until filled. An initial screening of applicants will take place at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024. High school diploma or general education (GED) with some course work in bookkeeping or accounting; at least three years of experience in accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, or general bookkeeping; or any combination of experience and training that would provide the following knowledge, abilities, and skills: Some knowledge of school division policies and regulations regarding the accounts payable, payroll, and/or budget processes. Some knowledge of the process, procedures, and requirements of accounts payable, payroll, and/or budget processes. Some knowledge of county, state, and federal accounting and reporting requirements. Ability to make arithmetical computations rapidly and accurately. Ability to maintain complex accounting records and to prepare reports from such records. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to perform data entry to school division financial and payroll systems. Ability to utilize computer spreadsheet and word processing software.

This position performs various clerical duties in the accounts payable, payroll, and budget area of the Finance Department. Duties include document verification, data input, filing, sorting mail, answering telephones, and assisting other personnel as needed. The work is performed under the general supervision of a supervisor. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Include, but are not limited to, the following: Verifies accuracy of documents submitted to accounts payable, payroll, and budget for processing by schools and departments. Enters documents into computer for financial processing. Maintains files of documents and records required in Finance Department. Opens and sorts incoming mail. Stuffs, sorts, distributes, and mails accounts payable checks, payroll checks, payroll statements, and various financial reports. Performs other duties as assigned.
