The San Antonio Marriott North West Hotel is looking to hire a Part Time B anquet/Event Houseperson. This position will primarily work 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift and weekends, but with the flexability to work various AM shifts when needed.

Please be advised, this position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis, up to and including entire shift; setting up for events, transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance-floors, etc., from storage area to meeting rooms as well as breaking down when concluded and returning to storage closet.

Key Responsibilities:

• To oversee and participate in the placement, service, maintenance, and breakdown of physical sets in the Pavilion, Ballrooms and associated meeting areas.
• Ensure placement of all decorations for the assigned function areas per specifications.
• Set up and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
• Assist servers/bartenders walking the room to replenish beverages as necessary.
• Follow established cleaning schedules of meeting rooms and ballrooms ensuring that stay presentable at all times and equipment in working order.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform pressed and clean with provided nametag.

Key Requirements:

• Must have experience in setting up various types of equipment and set up styles for meetings and events.
• Ability to speak the English language sufficient enough to understand job directions and communicate with guest.
• Ability to lift, carry and move tables, chairs and podiums weighing up to 80 lbs. in a crowded room; able to push, pull without assistance up to 200 lbs.
• Standing for long periods, up to entire shift, with frequent bending, squatting, and side-to-side movement.
• Able to climb ladders up to 30 feet high and reach in all directions, often times overhead.
• Ability move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing up to 1800 lbs.
