Nurse Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Know and support the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Nursing Department and Deer Meadows Retirement Community as a whole.
- Assign resident care responsibilities to nursing personnel based on resident’s needs, available staff and unit needs.
- Collaborate, communicate and cooperate with other health care providers to ensure quality care, including transcribing physician's orders according to facility procedures.
- Continually observe/monitor and evaluate quality, quantity and timeliness of nursing care.
- Responsible for evaluating work performance evaluations of direct subordinates.
- Responsible for applying disciplinary action when appropriate.
Nurse Supervisor Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Must currently be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing, medical practices and procedures.
- Knowledgeable of all legal regulations, guidelines and best practices that pertain to long-term care.
- Possess supervisory leadership skills and the capability to develop staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Time management skills.
