ConsultNet is Hiring a Low Voltage Technician Near Des Moines, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain surveillance and card access equipment with precision and efficiency.
  • Execute all wiring tasks, including laying long cables and connecting them to field components.
  • Deploy composite card access cables, copper network cables, and pre-terminated fiber optic cables.
  • Set up security head end components such as cabinets and power supplies.
  • Implement cable support systems for optimal functionality.
  • Perform installations in non-standard locations using short conduit runs, including rooftops and building corners.
  • Install various field devices including cameras, card readers, door contacts, and electronic locking hardware.
  • Mount and weatherproof cameras and auxiliary devices for enduring performance.
  • Interface auxiliary equipment with card access or camera systems, including ADA operators, alarm systems, and exit buttons.
  • Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of field devices, ensuring proper function and alignment.
  • Proficiently operate all necessary tools for installation tasks, including power tools, lifts, ladders, and rooftop work.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in CCTV, access control, or intrusion systems preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in security and surveillance installation.
