Job details for an Electrical Technician:

  • Pay Type: Hourly (based on skill and experience)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm (plus overtime opportunities)
  • Interview process: phone screening, on-site interview, and facility tour

Job duties and responsibilities for an Electrical Technician:

  • Perform assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting of electrical control panels
  • Layout enclosures and subpanels
  • Build and mount devices to panels based on print specifications
  • Interpret electro-mechanical prints and identify component functions
  • Wire equipment following electrical schematics
  • Cross-check components against the bill of material for accuracy
  • Apply proper connection methods to the equipment being built
  • Organize circuitry within panels for proper voltage level separation
  • Utilize basic computer skills for operating tagging machines and systems
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment, assembly, and wiring

Experience and requirements for an Electrical Technician:

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Technology (or a related field) or experience in control panel construction with a high school diploma
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Experience with variable frequency drives, reduced voltage starters, motor starters, and PLCs is a plus
  • Be able to wire panel devices according to provided electrical schematics and wiring drawings, as well as utilize electrical voltage meters and electrical tool ins
  • Must be able to read and transfer the markings of a ruler, T-square, tape measure, and metric scale

In addition to foundational skills, an Electrical Technician must cultivate the expertise to interpret prints, visualize the result, and proficiently identify and rectify any inaccuracies in circuitry within provided prints, crucial for ensuring productive and accurate assembly and wiring.

Employment is conditional on passing a background check and drug screening, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
