This position (Production Control Manager) will be in our Production Control department working with our Production Control Assistant. This position will include the basics of ensuring proper product flow throughout the facility.
· Moving completed parts to the next operation with the necessary paperwork
· Verifying part counts
· Utilizing our ERP system (Global Shop Solutions) for all production functions and reporting
· Disposing of scrap parts
· Prioritizing and scheduling jobs in conjunction with section leads and supervisors
· Preparing for and performing regularly scheduled production meetings
· Communicating with customers answering order status questions and providing delivery updates
· Communicating with suppliers regarding sub-contract processes
Beyond just the day-to-day product flow, you will be tasked with continual review and improvement of our manufacturing processes for the flow of product. This will include reviewing and measuring metrics to track performance and drive improvement efforts. Periodic meetings to review and discuss key performance indicators and propose changes to make improvements. Review, analysis and implementation of changes will require collaboration across several departments including Production, Quality, Engineering and others. Areas for continual review include but are not limited to:
· On time delivery
· Machine cycle times
· Machine setup times
· Department backlogs
· Spindle usage efficiency
· Performance of suppliers (on time delivery and quality)
· Cost of quality (ie. Scrap parts and rework labor)
· 5 years experience in manufacturing
· 2 years experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred
· Experience with ERP systems
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
· Degree in manufacturing or engineering related field preferred
