Role Description

The Business Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the dance school. This individual is responsible for ensuring smooth operations, maintaining a proactive business mindset, coordinating student registration and enrollment, communication with dance families, managing billing processes, handling HR-related tasks, and overseeing front-of-house activities during events. This role is located in Chanhassen, MN but offers flexibility for some remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing and Enrollment Management

  • Develop and execute registration and enrollment strategies to attract new students and retain existing ones.
  • Coordinate registration processes, class placement, fee structures, and enrollment communications.
  • Maintain accurate enrollment records and generate reports for analysis and decision-making.
  • Welcome new families with ease.

Operational Management

  • Develop and implement efficient operational processes to ensure smooth functioning of the dance school.
  • Coordinate with instructors, staff, and external vendors to optimize scheduling, class placements, and facility usage.

HR Experience

  • Manage human resources functions, including onboarding and employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Proactive Business Mindset

  • Identify opportunities for business growth, such as expanding class offerings, launching promotional campaigns, or implementing new revenue streams.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to make informed business decisions.

Front-of-House Coordination

  • Coordinate front-of-house operations during events, performances, and workshops.
  • Manage ticketing, seating arrangements, guest services, and overall customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, arts management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in operations management, preferably in a dance school or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, billing systems, enrollment management, and financial management.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Passion for dance, wellness, youth, faith, and the performing arts is a plus.
